Day 10
Day 1 : Arrive Osaka
Arrive in Osaka, be met by an English-speaking representative and transferred to your hotel.
Day 2 : Osaka and Nara
Visit Osaka Castle before cruising along the Yodogawa River. After lunch, continue to Nara and enjoy a leisurely walk through Nara Park to Todaiji Temple and admire the traditional Isuien Gardens before returning to Osaka.
Day 3 : Kyoto
Travel to Kyoto, visit Togetsukyo Bridge, Ryoanji Temple, home to Japan's most famous Zen garden and the famous 'Golden Pavilion', Kinkakuji Temple.
Day 4 : Kyoto
Visit one of Kyoto’s most famous sites, Fushimi Inari Shrine. Enjoy a tea ceremony with a tea master and try your hand at origami. After lunch, your immersive experience continues with a fan painting class.
Day 5 : Matsumoto
This morning travel by train deeper into the Japanese Alps to Nagano. On arrival head to Yudanaka in search of the snow monkeys. In Nagano, stop to visit the 7th-century Zenkoji Temple, before continuing by road to Matsumoto.
Day 6 : Matsumoto
Enjoy a visit to the magnificent 16th-century Matsumoto Castle, visit a miso house to learn about the process of making this famous Japanese seasoning. After lunch, visit a sake brewery.
Day 7 : Mount Fuji and Mishima
Travel to the Fuji Five Lakes area. Head up to Fuji’s 5th Station for spectacular mountain views. Continue to Lake Ashi and take a cruise across the lake before taking the Komagatake cable car for unparalleled views of Mount Fuji and the lake below.
Day 8 : Tokyo
Journey to Kamakura, a popular coastal city. Visit Kotokuin Temple which houses Japan’s second tallest bronze buddha and Tsurugaoka Hachimangu, Kamakura’s most important shrine. After lunch, continue to Tokyo.
Day 9 : Tokyo
Explore Tokyo, highlights include Tokyo Skytree, the old district of Asakusa, Sensoji Temple, Tokyo’s oldest and most famous temple. Tonight enjoy a leisurely 1 hour dinner cruise on Tokyo Bay for some excellent city vistas.
Day 10 : Depart Tokyo
This morning is free at leisure before transferring to the airport for your return flight home.
