Osaka - Kyoto - Hiroshima Bullet Train Journeys
Spend a week of exploring some of Japan’s most interesting cities. Osaka, a modern city with striking modern architecture, a vibrant nightlife scene and tasty local cuisine. Kyoto, where modern life meets old traditional Japan, rich in heritage sites and culture. Finally to Hiroshima, the site of the world's first atomic bomb attack, now a modern, cosmopolitan city with excellent cuisine and a bustling nightlife.
Your Itinerary
Day 1 : Osaka
Arrive in Osaka and check in at your hotel.
Day 2 : Osaka
A full day walking tour introduces you to some of Osaka's must visit locations. Overlook the city from Osaka Castle and enjoy the atmosphere of a lively market. Enjoy views from the observatory of Tsutenkaku. Your walking tour is with an experienced English guide with tasty Ramen for lunch. Total duration is approx. 7½ hours, a moderate level of fitness is required.
Day 3 : Kyoto
Board a bullet train for the short journey to Kyoto. On arrival, transfer to your hotel. For over a thousand years Kyoto was the capital of Japan and it is probably the best preserved of all its cities.
Day 4 : Kyoto and Nara
Explore the ancient capitals of Japan, Kyoto and Nara on a full day tour. Begin your adventure at the Golden Pavilion "Kinkakuji". Also named Rokuonji, it is the symbol of Kyoto and one of the most famous UNESCO sites in the entire country. Then travel to Nara, where you will have time to explore its park, watch the worldwide famous deer and enter the biggest wooden building of the planet, Todai-ji Temple, another UNESCO world heritage site. You will also see Fushimi Inari Shrine and the 'Senbon Torii'.
Day 5 : Hiroshima
Board a bullet train to Hiroshima. This afternoon meet your tour guide who will escort you on a walking tour to famous sites such as Miyajima Island, Itsukushima Shrine, Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park, Shukkeien Japanese garden, and Hiroshima Castle. Your guide will customise your tour according to your interests. A private vehicle is not included, public transportation or local taxis may be required, costs not included.
Day 6 : Hiroshima
A free day to explore.
Day 7 : Osaka / Tour ends
A final bullet train journey is included to Osaka, on arrival your journey comes to an end. We can arrange onward connections if you wish to explore more of Japan.
