Day 1 : Tokyo
Arrive Tokyo and check in at your hotel.
Day 2 : Tokyo
This morning you will get to know the city through the eyes of a passionate local. There is no set itinerary, allowing you to customise the tour or leave it up to the local for an insightful introduction to the city. Your guide will provide a general overview of the city with practical information from a locals perspective, rather than detailed historical facts (attraction admissions and transport costs are not included). After saying goodbye to your guide, this afternoon you will join a tea making ceremony with an expert Tea Master and host. The friendly staff will demonstrate the tea ceremony process while explaining the significance behind it, the steps and the tools. You will learn about tea ceremony history, and tea ceremony etiquette. A fascinating day that will leave you with a greater understanding of the local culture and customs.
Day 3 : Nagano
Board your bullet train today to Nagano located in the centre of Japan. Check in to your hotel and explore at your leisure.
Day 4 : Snow Monkeys
A full day tour with an English-speaking guide introduces you to Nagano. Visit Nagano's Zenko-ji Temple, filled with history and legend. Enjoy lunch at one of the most popular restaurants followed by an afternoon at the world-famous Jigokudani Snow Monkey Park. The park is inhabited by Japanese macaques, known as snow monkeys. Accustomed to humans, the monkeys can be observed from very close and almost completely ignore their human guests. Please note: This a private guided tour using public transportation.
Day 5 : Tokyo
A transfer will return you to the rail station to board your bullet train to Tokyo for a final night in this fascinating city.
Day 6 : Departure
Your package ends with the check out from your hotel.
