In the North of the USA, many cities house the same climate from coast to coast. Winter can bring snowfall, cold weather and frozen lakes, and spring can start as late as May. When it does arrive, however, it brings with it an abundance of colourful flowers and comfortable temperatures. Summer temperatures can range from warm to very hot, whilst the housed-in cities can feel stifling, the coasts and national parks are usually cooler and the summer months are a spectacular time to explore them. Autumn in America is world-famous for its spectacular foliage in gorgeous hues of orange, yellow and red.

Whilst Southern USA has less obvious seasons, there are distinct regional differences, and generally it becomes more humid the further east you get. Winter is dry and warm, though is much colder in the north. Summer is the perfect time to relax on the beach, or embark on a hike in the national parks (though it can be very humid). Spring and autumn are the best times to travel, with pleasant temperatures throughout meaning you can comfortably do most activities. Be aware that hurricane season is active in the southeast during August and September.
