Your accommodation is the Cape Cadogan Boutique hotel, located in the suburb of Gardens in the heart of Cape Town’s City Bowl. This original Georgian-Victoria townhouse holds National Monument Status and looks more like a private residence than a hotel.

Day 3 : Cape Town

A free day to explore Cape Town. Why not take an optional city tour of Cape Town (at additional cost), exploring the Castle of Good Hope, the Company Gardens with the Iziko National Art Gallery and Iziko South African museum. Walk through the Bo-Kaap with its Cape Malay influence or visit District Six a site of forced removals under Apartheid legislation that uprooted an entire community. Alternatively enjoy a culinary experience exploring this multicultural cuisine with European, Malay, Indian and African influence. A Robben Island tour covers the history of the island as a place of isolation having been used as a leper colony and a place of incarceration by the Dutch East India Company when they colonised the Cape. Once you reach the island you will be given a guided tour of the island and the prison. Part of your tour includes viewing the prison cell that held Nelson Mandela captive for 18 of his 27 years and the lime quarry where prisoners were set to work.

Day 4 : Winelands

Your short drive today takes you through the heart of the Winelands to the town of Wellington. Your accommodation is at the Grand Dedale Country House, nestled at the foot of Bainskloof Pass in a beautiful long valley, this exclusive Estate is set on 380 hectares of vineyard, forest and fynbos and is surrounded by three dramatic mountain ranges. The Kromme River, which is supplemented by water from “Gawie se Water” runs through the Estate and is a major natural attraction.
