After two nights of relaxing, get delighted by a 4-day magnificent Escorted Garden Route. From indigenous forests, ancient mountain passes and beautiful rugged beaches, to a wine tasting at the spectacular limestone caverns of the Cango Caves.

On the seventh day, the trip continues to Kariega Game Reserve, a private game reserve in South Africa stretching across 9,000 hectares of pristine wilderness in the Eastern. Enjoy the last couple of days with breath-taking vistas over the hills, valleys and rivers; plus complement your holidays with a close-up viewing of the Big 5 or a boat cruise down the Kariega River.

Finally, you will be transferred to Port Elizabeth Airport to connect to your international flight.

Day 1 : UK - Cape Town

Arrival at Cape Town International Airport.

Day 2-3 : UK - Cape Town

Private transfer from Cape Town International Airport to Harbour Bridge Hotel & Suites.

Bridge Room on a Bed and Breakfast basis for 2 nights at Harbour Bridge Hotel & Suites.

Situated 20 minutes drive from Cape Town International Airport, ideally positioned near the V&A Waterfront within the Cape Town International Convention Centre precinct, this premier, 4-star hotel provides the ultimate accommodation choice for both business and leisure travellers seeking a distinctive experience. Day 4 : Cape Town - Mossel Bay

4 Day Magnificent Garden Route - Per Person Per Escorted Tour.

Explore indigenous forests, ancient mountain passes and beautiful rugged beaches. Discover the scenic Garden Route, one of South Africa’s most beautiful coastal regions. From Cape Town travel via Cape Agulhas, the Southernmost tip of Africa, through historic Swellendam to Mossel Bay. Discover iconic sights like the Cango Caves and an ostrich show farm before heading down to Knysna via the Outeniqua Pass and travelling through George and the pretty holiday town Wilderness. Enjoy a lagoon cruise to the Featherbed Nature Reserve Knysna.

After an early morning departure from Cape Town, we’ll travel along Sir Lowry’s Pass, with its magnificent views from the top, to Grabouw and Elgin, a lush landscape surrounded by majestic mountains. Our journey continues to Cape Agulhas, the southernmost tip of Africa, where the Atlantic and Indian Oceans meet. The area has largely been untouched and unexplored with its rugged coastline being the graveyard for many a ship. The historic Cape Agulhas Lighthouse is considered the icon that signifies the tip of Africa. After this thrilling experience, we continue via historic Swellendam, the third oldest town in South Africa, to Mossel Bay, from where the Garden Route extends to the Storms River in the east. Overnight in Mossel Bay. Distance travelled today: 507 km.

This Small Group Tour requires a minimum of 2 Guests to operate and will not exceed a maximum of 18 Guests. Transport will be in a Cullinan Guided Journeys branded vehicle with 2-8 guests travelling in a 13-seater vehicle, 9-11 guests in a 15-seater vehicle and 12-18 guests in a coach.

Day 5 : Mossel Bay - Oudtshoorn

After breakfast, we continue our journey to Oudtshoorn, the ostrich capital of the world and home to the spectacular limestone caverns of the Cango Caves. Visit an Ostrich Farm for a guided tour. Enjoy a wine tasting at a local wine estate before setting off on a tour of the Cango Caves, one of the world’s great natural wonders, sculpted by nature through the ages. Overnight in Oudtshoorn (Breakfast & Dinner). Distance travelled today: 155 km.

Day 6 : Oudtshoorn - Knysna

After breakfast, travel over the Outeniqua Pass to George, the sixth oldest town in South Africa, with many historical landmarks like the Slave Tree and King Edward VII Library building; said to be the best example of Edwardian architecture in the town. The tour travels via Wilderness, an attractive holiday resort to Knysna, known as the oyster box of South Africa, nestling on the banks of a beautiful lagoon in the heart of the Garden Route.

Enjoy a lagoon cruise to the Featherbed Nature Reserve (weather permitting), where you can take a trailer ride to the top of the Western Head to enjoy panoramic views of the town and lagoon, returning for lunch. The afternoon is at leisure to further explore this charming town set around a natural harbour lagoon. Overnight in Knysna (Breakfast & Lunch). Distance travelled today: 134 km.

Day 7-8 : Knysna - Port Elizabeth

Flight to Port Elizabeth Airport. Private transfer from Port Elizabeth Airport to Kariega Main Lodge.

After breakfast, you’ll be transferred (unescorted, driver only) to Port Elizabeth. You’ll head eastwards along the Tsitsikamma Forest to Port Elizabeth, known as the “friendly city”, with a wonderful climate. The tour ends on arrival in Port Elizabeth. [Breakfast] Guests may disembark, on request, at Port Elizabeth Airport. Distance travelled today: 274 km.
