New Zealand's Annual Climate
New Zealand is famed for its rugged natural beauty, stunning green landscapes and variety of excursions, making it a perfect year-round destination.
As it lies on the southern hemisphere, their seasons are pretty much opposite to ours! Whilst we defrost our windscreens, New Zealanders are kicking back relaxing on the beach. The summer months of December to March bring long, sunny days, ideal for taking a trip beaches or enjoying some of the many outdoor activities available, such as hiking and kayaking.
You’re likely to see snow from June to September in the South Island, and some of the mountainous areas in the North Island – perfect for skiers! The spring and autumn months bring milder weather, and fewer visitors mean less queues for tourist attractions and cheaper flights – though you can expect a few drops of rain!
