Your Itinerary
Day 1 : Arrive Vancouver
Upon arrival at Vancouver International Airport, make your own way to your downtown hotel for a 3 nights stay. The remainder of your day is at leisure to explore Vancouver on your own. Canada’s third-largest metropolitan centre, Vancouver is a busy port with a thriving multicultural ambiance. The city is located in a spectacular setting with the Coast Mountains across Burrard Inlet to the north, and the waters of the Strait of Georgia to the west. Restaurants, shopping, nightlife, a mild climate and a cosmopolitan atmosphere make Vancouver a favourite tourist destination.
Day 2-3 : Vancouver & Capilano Suspension Bridge
On day 2, you will enjoy the following tours:
Capilano Suspension Bridge & Park
Capilano Suspension Bridge and Park invites you to venture across Vancouver's oldest visitor attraction. There is something for everyone - facts and fiction at the Story Centre, exhibits at the Living Forest, guided nature walks through the West Coast Rain Forest, shopping at the Trading Post, colourful totem poles and native carving. Experience a thrilling "tree tops adventure" and discover seven acres of West Coast Rainforest through a maze of suspended footbridges swaying between towering Hemlocks, immense Red Cedars and colossal Douglas firs. More thrills await you at the "cliff-hanger walk" which takes you out over the canyon's cliff edge.
Vancouver & Capilano Suspension Bridge
This tour offers a fascinating look at Vancouver. Points of interest include Canada Place, Robson Street, Sports Venues, the Library, theatres, Chinatown and historic Gastown. Visit Capilano Suspension Bridge in the North Shore rainforest, and cross the 450-ft-long bridge over a spectacular canyon to the Treetops Adventure observation structure. Shop and snack under the evergreens. A highlight of this tour is a visit to Granville Island with its public market, shops, eateries and galleries along the water.
Day 4 : Whistler
Depart Vancouver early this morning on a scheduled coach transfer to the resort town of Whistler. In Winter, Whistler is famed for its pristine snow conditions that are any skier or snowboarder's dream. There's zip trekking, snow mobile tours or even sleigh rides to enjoy too; your options are endless, just let your sense of adventure be your guide.
Day 5-6 : The Medicine Trail Snowshoe Tour
Walk through a forest full of mystery along an old trapper's path. Learn traditional knowledge while you snowshoe and sample healing teas from plants that grow along The Medicine Trail. Travel deep into a special ancient forest in the Callaghan Valley. Hear a brief history of the area's traditional uses and ways of the past. Let your imagination go as you gaze upon giant cedar, fir and hemlock trees that provide a canopy high above. Finish back at the caboose for a rejuvenating snack by the fire.
The following day, at your leisure, enjoy discovering what this enchanting village has to offer.
Day 7 : Canadian Wilderness Adventures: Trappers Run Dogsled Tour
The tour departs from the Canadian Wilderness Adventures desk in the Carleton Lodge, 4280 Mountain Square, located at the base of Whistler / Blackcomb Gondolas, below the Longhorn. Please be there 30 minutes prior to your tour departure time.
A real CANADIAN experience. Let your eager and powerful dog team lead you into the magnificent old growth forest of the Callaghan Valley. Join your professional musher in harnessing and staging the dogs, learn the commands and feel the thrill of your team running through the forested trail. Relax with your family as you ride a mellow mix of open and winding trails for an unforgettable winter journey, with plenty of photo opportunities.
Please note that the ideal weight for a smooth ride on a dogsled is 350 lbs or less per one dogsled and It is mandatory for all tour participants to sign a Release of Liability and Waiver Form. Any participants under the age of 19 must have a parent or guardian present to sign on their behalf.
Please wear warm clothing, ski/snowboard clothing and helmet, winter footwear, gloves, and bring a camera.
Day 8 : Depart Vancouver
You will be transferred to Vancouver International Airport, to take your flight back to the UK.
