To help travellers rebalance the impact of their trips, First Class Holidays has partnered with award winning environmental ‘Tech For Good’ company, Trees4Travel. We offer the chance to plant new trees across the globe through reforestation and to simultaneously invest into clean renewable energy projects. That means a traveller’s climate contribution will remove CO2e emissions now and invest in the planet for the future. Trees are one of the most powerful absorbers of carbon emissions - by growing trees in developing countries as you travel, you can help to restore eco-systems, biodiversity and support local communities. Reforestation will help reverse climate change, but trees can be fragile and take time to grow, so to ensure a travellers carbon emissions are removed as soon as possible, Trees4Travel will also connect each tree to a United Nations Certified Emissions Reduction renewable energy project carbon credit, essentially doubling our promise.
Their CER investments are verified through United Nations certification, this is how we initially compensate all CO2 calculated, using DEFRA and GHG Protocols which are the international recognised calculation methods. These certificates are also suitable for conformity and mandatory reporting. Our tree planting is an additional climate positive action, which will effectively double the compensation of the CO2 calculated.
