Where to go in Okinawa

Okinawa main island

Okinawa’s largest island is home to national parks, World Heritage Sites and iconic island culture. Thick forests in the north give way to chic promenades in the south, along with castles and high-end resorts. A visit to the capital Naha is not complete without shopping on Kokusai Street, tasting delicious food and enjoying the nightlife. Pay a visit to Shurijo Castle, the former seat of power for the Ryuku Kingdom, before heading to Naminoue Beach to relax.

Miyako

A beach lover’s paradise where you’ll swim in turquoise waters and relax on the white sand. Indulge in great culinary delights such as sweet mangoes and delicious Miyako soba noodles, and enjoy spectacular views of the shimmering water from Higashi-Hennazaki Cape.

Ishigaki

A subtropical paradise that offers an array of activities and relaxing views of the crystal ocean. The island also serves as a gateway to the Yaeyama Islands, a group of remote islands 400 kilometres southwest of Okinawa’s main island. Choose to explore the stunning Kabira Bay, and take to the water to snorkel amongst beautiful corals, manta rays and sea turtles.
