Accommodation is in traditional Fijian bures, or bungalows, which offer a range of island settings – Island views, ocean views and best of all, beach bures right on the sandy beach. All have a king bed and 2 singles making them ideal for couples and families alike. All the recently renovated bures are well-appointed, spacious, and air-conditioned.
Dining at Castaway is a true delight. The sound of the ocean, the calming touch of an ocean breeze, the colourful sights of this beautiful tropical island add to the mouth-watering aromas and tastes of the renowned Castaway creative island cuisine. You will be spoilt for choice with delicious alternatives. Whatever your culinary desires, you will find them on Castaway Island menus. Emphasis is on the very best of fresh seasonal produce from both local Fijian growers and international suppliers, brought to your table bursting with flavour and flair.
When you want a change from the beach there’s plenty to do. Castaway Island has plenty of fun and exciting “on-land” activities, from beach-volleyball, tennis, cooking classes to barefoot boxing classes. Or get back to nature and explore the picturesque bushwalking trail. On the water experience kayaking, paddle boarding, snorkelling or scuba diving. There’s a weekly cultural evening with traditional dance and dinner buffet and for the ultimate relaxation a wonderful spa.

Island Bure
Nestled amongst the resort’s lush tropical gardens.
Each free-standing, traditionally thatched bure features a high vaulted hand painted ‘tapa’ lined ceiling, air-conditioning, ceiling fans, large bathroom with shower, hairdryer and toiletries with a distinct Fijian accent. They have one king bed with two single beds having a sliding privacy screen making two sleeping areas, ideal for families.
Island bures are spacious and stylishly appointed with distinctive natural timbers and comfortable soft furnishings and are within a few minutes’ walk to the beach front, restaurants and sporting facilities.

Ocean View Bure
Close to the beach and enjoy water views, whilst being nestled amongst the resort’s lush tropical gardens. They are designed and furnished in the same style as Island Bures and are within a few minutes’ walk of the beachfront, restaurants and sporting facilities.
All bures feature air-conditioning, terrace, fridge, bathrobes, ceiling fans, safe, tea / coffee making facility.
Beach Bure
Offer the ultimate Fijian beach experience and are located along the two north and south facing beaches of Castaway Island, all with uninterrupted water views. Designed and furnished in the same style as the Island and Ocean View Bures they are within a few steps of the soft sandy beach and foreshore.
All bures feature air-conditioning, terrace, fridge, bathrobes, ceiling fans, safe, tea / coffee making facility.
Restaurants and Bars
The Water’s Edge Restaurant is the main resort dining venue and is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Nuku Marau, the family Pool, Bar & Grill offers light a la carte breakfasts & all day fresh rolled sushi, burgers, sandwiches & wraps.
Restaurant 1808 offers Fijian Asian dining and is open for dinner only (weather dependent). Organic produce & herbal infusions combine the unmistakable flavours of Asia, featuring Fijian, Chinese and Indian cooking techniques. Strictly adult only.
Sundowner Bar is the perfect place to eat, drink and enjoy a Fijian sunset. Open for lunch and dinner with Italian pizzas. There’s an early evening happy hour
Activities and Facilities
Relax and be pampered and enjoy traditional Fijian massages in the spa, by the sea or in your own bure. Castaway offers 2 swimming pool areas including an Adult only pool with swim up bar and Jacuzzi. Other water activities include paddle boards, kayaks, snorkelling and a PADI dive centre offering dives and lessons. There’s a tennis court, beach activities, cooking demonstrations and island walking trail. Excursions to nearby islands are available as well as a weekly cultural day with Fijian entertainment and a traditional lovo dinner buffet.
