This journey of contrasts takes you from the waterfront city of Vancouver, through the spectacular alpine landscapes of Whistler to Quenel and onwards to Jasper in Alberta. There is time in Vancouver to explore and enjoy a whale watching tour and with overnight stays in Whistler and Quenel this journey is easy and comfortable. From Jasper you’ll travel along the magnificent Icefields Parkway to Banff, a delightful mountain town in the Rockies before departing from Calgary.

Day 1 : UK - Vancouver

On arrival in Vancouver, make your way to your downtown hotel for a 4-night stay.

Day 2-4 : Vancouver

There is ample time to explore this welcoming city. Surrounded by water and mountains it’s no wonder it appear high on ‘best city in the world’ lists year after year. A whale watching experience is included during your time here but there is a multitude of activities to enjoy. Take an e-bike tour through Stanley Park, scale the dizzy heights of the Capilano Suspension Bridge, or perhaps take a seaplane flight to Victoria, on Vancouver Island. The options are endless.

Day 5 : Rocky Mountaineer – Whistler

From North Vancouver, the Rocky Mountaineer winds its way along Horseshoe Bay and the fiords of Howe Sound as it leaves the city and the ocean behind. Climbing through the Coast Mountains, the train arrives in Whistler with plenty of time to explore this lovely mountain resort.

Day 6 : Rocky Mountaineer – Quenel

This morning sees the train following the Fraser River Valley, an arid landscape punctuated by deep valleys. The route is an historic one, passing through canyons flecked with gold, once a huge drawcard for wagoneering prospectors. As the train climbs the landscape changes to huge mountains and vast lakes before arriving into Quenel.

Day 7 : Rocky Mountaineer - Jasper

The final leg of your Rocky Mountaineer journey takes you through the wilds of northern British Columbia, passing tranquil lakes, cascading waterfalls and on into an increasingly dramatic, rugged terrain. Pass Mount Robson, the highest peak in the Canadian Rockies and you continue to Jasper.

Day 8 : Jasper

Enjoy a day in this charming mountain town. Sitting within the UNESCO World Heritage Listed Jasper National Park, this pristine environment is a haven for wildlife and a joy to explore.

Day 9 : Banff

A shared tour is an ideal way to travel between Jasper ad Banff. Following the Icefields Parkway, one of the most scenic drives in Canada there is time to relax and soak in the scenery. Keep watch for wildlife and venture out onto the Athabasca Glacier on a unique Ice Explorer.

Day 10&11 : Banff

Banff is a delight and there are any number of ways to enjoy its charms. Take to one of the many hiking or cycling trails, head up the mountain on the gondola or take a gentle canoe or float trip on one of the many lakes. Outdoor pursuits are the order of the day here and there are a multitude to choose from.

Day 12 : Banff-UK

A shared transfer will take you to Calgary Airport for your onward flight.
