From North Vancouver, the Rocky Mountaineer winds its way along Horseshoe Bay and the fiords of Howe Sound as it leaves the city and the ocean behind. Climbing through the Coast Mountains, the train arrives in Whistler with plenty of time to explore this lovely mountain resort.

Day 6 : Rocky Mountaineer – Quenel

This morning sees the train following the Fraser River Valley, an arid landscape punctuated by deep valleys. The route is an historic one, passing through canyons flecked with gold, once a huge drawcard for wagoneering prospectors. As the train climbs the landscape changes to huge mountains and vast lakes before arriving into Quenel.

Day 7 : Rocky Mountaineer - Jasper

The final leg of your Rocky Mountaineer journey takes you through the wilds of northern British Columbia, passing tranquil lakes, cascading waterfalls and on into an increasingly dramatic, rugged terrain. Pass Mount Robson, the highest peak in the Canadian Rockies and you continue to Jasper.

Day 8 : Jasper

Enjoy a day in this charming mountain town. Sitting within the UNESCO World Heritage Listed Jasper National Park, this pristine environment is a haven for wildlife and a joy to explore.

Day 9 : Banff

A shared tour is an ideal way to travel between Jasper ad Banff. Following the Icefields Parkway, one of the most scenic drives in Canada there is time to relax and soak in the scenery. Keep watch for wildlife and venture out onto the Athabasca Glacier on a unique Ice Explorer.
