Step aboard The Canadian train in Toronto to embark on a rail adventure that takes you through vast prairies, where the skies are huge and the distances unfathomable into the magnificent Rockies and onwards to the beautiful harbour city of Vancouver. From here set sail with Holland America on an Inside Passage Alaskan cruise, through one of the world’s last frontiers.

Your Itinerary
Day 1 : Depart UK - Toronto
Leave the UK for Toronto. On arrival a private transfer will take you to your hotel.
Day 2 : Toronto – Onboard VIA Rail
Make your way to Toronto Union Station for your departure aboard The Canadian. Settle back and relax as your cross the lake lands of Ontario.
Prestige Class: Private washroom with a shower, couch day bed which coverts to a bed for 2 by night, flatscreen TV and a stocked minibar.
Cabin: Comfortable seat(s) which convert to a cosy bed or bunk beds, private toilet and sink, with shared shower facilities.
Upper and Lower Berths: Double seats which convert to 2 bunk beds with washroom and shower facilities in the same car.
Day 3 : Onboard VIA Rail
Today is all about the Canadian prairies as you cross from Ontario into Manitoba. The train arrives into Winnipeg this evening.
Day 4 : Onboard VIA Rail
The Canadian continues into Saskatchewan, making a short stop in Saskatoon before heading for Edmonton in Alberta. There is time to leave the train and explore for a short while before a midnight departure.
Day 5 : Onboard VIA Rail
Early morning in Jasper is the view as you awake before travelling through the Rockies to Kamloops.
Day 6 : Onboard VIA Rail – Vancouver
Your epic trans Canadian rail journey comes to an end with an early morning arrival into Vancouver. On arrival make your way to your Vancouver Hotel.
Day 7 : Vancouver
Vancouver is a glorious city like no other. Bordered by snowy mountain peaks and the Pacific Ocean this is a city that embraces the great outdoors. Enjoy a day free to explore at your leisure.
Day 8 : Vancouver – Holland America Cruise Ms Koningsdam
Make your way from your hotel to the cruise terminal for a late afternoon departure. Onboard, relax, unpack and settle in as your cruise ship sets sail.
Day 9 : At Sea – Inside Passage
Today is spent cruising the Inside Passage, a beautifully scenic waterway that stretches 1000 miles from British Columbia to Skagway.
Day 10 : Juneau
Arrive at Tracy Arm fjord mid-morning. Take in the scenery and impressive glacier. Continue on to Juneau, Alaska’s capital city
Day 11 : Skagway
Skagway is renowned for the most impressive gold rush the world has ever seen. Stroll the wooden boardwalks and learn more of this historic town’s history.
Day 12 : At Sea – Glacier Bay
As the ship edges close to the face of the Margerie Glacier you can feel its coolness. Listen closely and you hear ‘White Thunder’ the Tlingit name for the sound of glaciers crashing into the sea. Wildlife often seen includes wolves, moose, grizzly and brown bears, deer and lynx.
Day 13 : Ketchikan
The destination today is Ketchikan, home to the world’s largest collection of totem poles. The town’s colourful past is still very much evident.
Day 14 : At Sea – Inside Passage
Keep your eyes peeled for wildlife, historic lighthouses and coastal First Nations long houses as your return back through the Inside Passage.
Day 15 : Vancouver - London
Arrive in Vancouver this morning and disembark after breakfast. Make your way to the airport for your return flight.
