Your Itinerary
Day 1 : UK - Calgary
On arrival make your way to your downtown hotel for an overnight stay. Explore the city this evening and enjoy the legendary western hospitality.
Day 2-3 : Lake Louise
A private transfer will take you to Lake Louise, arguably one of the most beautiful spots in the Rockies. Even when the lake is still frozen it is a sight to behold and a truly memorable experience. It’s a wonderful base from which to explore with several national parks, including Yoho National Park, within easy reach.
Day 4 : Icefields Parkway
Today sees you travel from Lake Louise along the magnificent Icefields Parkway, surrounded on all sides by soaring mountains and glaciers. With someone else driving you can sit back and relax and soak it all in. There will be photography stops along with the way and keep your eyes peeled for wildlife. An Ice Explore experience is included at the Athabasca Glacier as you make your way to Jasper.
Day 5 : Jasper
Enjoy the charms of this welcoming mountain town. Set within the UNESCO World Heritage Listed Jasper National Park and a designated Dark Sky Preserve, Jasper is a very special place. There are hundreds of miles of hiking trails, cycling trails and cool, glacial lakes to explore.
Day 6 : Rocky Mountaineer
Depart Jasper during the early morning, when the town is still quiet. As the train rumbles out of town breakfast is served in the GoldLeaf dining carriage. Travelling into the heart of the British Columbia interior you’ll head west then south, surrounded by the dramatic scenery of the Continental Divide and the river valleys of the Monashee and Cariboo Mountains. The train climbs the Yellowhead Pass and offers sensational views of Pyramid Falls and Mount Robson as you make for your overnight stop in Kamloops.
Day 7 : Rocky Mountaineer – Vancouver
Continue ever westwards towards the Pacific Ocean today. The scenery changes from desert to winding river canyons and lush forests to the rock sheds of the Thompson River. The Rocky Mountaineer arrives in Vancouver during the evening, when you will be transferred to your hotel.
Day 8 : Vancouver
A day to explore the city and reflect on your adventure across the Rockies. Take a walk along the seawall, or head to Granville Island and the exceptional local market there. Hire an e-bike or head for Grouse Mountain and the Capilano Suspension Bridge, or just wander at your leisure.
Day 9 : Vancouver - UK
Depart for the airport and your return flight.
