Day 1-3 : UK-Siem Reap

Your driver and local guide will be waiting at the airport ready to transfer you to the comfort of your hotel. After check in your guide will discuss excursion options with you for visiting the Angkor complex over the next few days. Siem Reap is a bustling little town, bursting with a vast range of delicious restaurants to suit every taste, boutique shops and night markets.

Day 4 : Sunrise Angkor Temple Tour

Depart early to Angkor Wat and watch the sunrise providing a silhouette of the temple’s uniquely shaped towers. Return to your hotel for breakfast before beginning your temple exploration of the UNESCO world heritage complex inside the sunning walled city of Angkor Thom. Take in the enigmatic Bayon, the mighty Baphoun Temple, Phimeanakas and the Terrace of the Elephants. There is time for lunch (own expense) before you enter the main causeway for the walk to the main temple. Discover galleries, pavilions and carved bas-relief that tell ancient legends. Climb to the holiest sanctuary at the summit of the temple, where you will be rewarded with fantastic views. (Please bring your Angkor Entry Pass which will be provided locally.)

Day 5 : Beng Mealea & Kampong Phluk Tour

This morning, explore the mysterious ruins of Beng Mealea, thought to be a blueprint for Angkor Wat. From crumbling stone blocks acting as stars to the temple’s many subterranean chambers, it is deemed as the most fun temple to explore. In the afternoon head east of Siem Reap on the northern edge of Tonle Sap Lake to the village of Kampong Phluk, where locals live on stilted houses rising from the ground. Travel by traditional boat and observe daily life, head out to Tonle Sap where you will appreciate the immensity of this fascinating waterway. (Please bring your Angkor Entry Pass which will be provided locally.)

Day 6 : Siem Reap

Today is yours to explore the township or simply relax by a pool.

Day 7 : Battambang

Your private driver will transfer you to the rural area of Battambang, sit back and enjoy views of the stunning scenery and Cambodian villagers working in the fields. Battambang City offers an eclectic mix of colonial and postcolonial architecture as well as ancient pagodas. Spend the rest the day exploring the art deco market and strolling through the picturesque streets.

Day 8 : Battambang

This morning will prove to be a highlight as you take a tuk-tuk through winding streets in the countryside. Your guide will introduce you to local products such as rice wine and bamboo sticky rice, sample the flavours that make this cuisine so delectable. Be welcomed to a family home where you will savour fresh fruits and coconut. Continue to the quiet town of Wat Samrong Knong before your final stop of the day to explore Phnom Sampeau. A hill with limestone caves and panoramic views awaits. Another fun transport ride onboard the fabulous bamboo train is a great way to explore this riverside town.

Day 9 : Phnom Penh

Your private driver will pick you up for a morning drive to Phnom Penh. Enroute visit the pottery-making village of Kompong Chhang and Phnom Outdon with stupas containing the ashes of Buddha and ancient Khmer Kings. Phnom Penh, located at the meeting of the Mekong, Bassac and Tonle Sap rivers charms visitors with its French architecture, wide boulevard and riverside promenade.

Day 10 : Phnom Penh

This morning you will visit the infamous Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum where you will have the opportunity to meet one of the few survivors. Continue to Choeung Ek Killing Fields, the destination for prisoners from Tuol Sleng where a harrowing memorial reminds visitors of the atrocities. Following lunch (own expense) something more light-hearted as you tour around the Royal Palace where over 5,000 heavy silver tiles cover the floors. Your final visit is Wat Phnom where you will hear the legend of how the city got its name.

Day 10 : Koh Rong Samloem Island

Your driver will meet you at the hotel for a transfer, approx. 3-4 hours by road before joining a fast boat for a 40 minutes ride to Koh Rong Samloem Island. Koh Rong Samloem Island is off the coast of SihanoukVille. Whilst here you may wish to explore local smaller islands by boat, dip your toe in the water or join a guided snorkelling tour. This unique environment is the perfect place to unwind in a tropical paradise.

Day 11&12 : Koh Rong Samloem Island

Enjoy carefree days exploring the island by taking a short walk or relaxing with a book on golden sands.

Day 13 : Kampot

Time to leave by boat where your driver will meet you at the arrival pier and drive you approx. 2-3 hours to Kampot city, set on the Preaek Tuek Chhu River in southern Cambodia. Visit the former Governor’s mansion which tells the history of Kampot. Your final visit will take you to the Preah Monivong Boko National Park, home to gibbons and big cats. This evening is at leisure.

Day 14 : Kampot

A free day to explore or simply relax by the pool. For something more energetic maybe choose a cycling tour in the countryside, the choice is yours.

Day 15&16 : Depart Kampot

Your driver will transfer you from your hotel for your return flight or onward journey.
