Day 1-3 : UK- Phnom Penh

On arrival to the 'Pearl of Asia' your driver and guide will meet you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel. Phnom Penh was influenced by the French in the 1920s which becomes apparent with the architecture. Located at the joining of the Mekong, Bassac and Tonle Sap rivers this bustling city is home to riverside walks, restaurants and shopping.

Day 4 : Phnom Penh

Following breakfast your driver and guide will take you on a guided tour around the Royal Palace, home to the Silver Pagoda and then on to Wat Phnom, the legend of how the city got its name. There is time for lunch (own expense) before a moving and sobering visit to the infamous Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum and Choeung Ek Killing Fields. You will be returned to your hotel this evening to reflect and relax.

Day 5 : Phnom Penh

The day is free at your leisure, relax by the pool or visit the bustling central market.

Day 6 : Cardamom Tented Camp

After breakfast, your adventure begins with a private transfer to Koh Kong, with its vast coastline and rugged interior encompassing part of the Cardamom Mountain’s rainforest. Embark on a 30-minute boat ride and travel down the Preak Tachan River to Cardamom Tented Camp. On arrival you will receive a brief introduction before settling into your safari-style tent. Relax this afternoon by the river or take a kayak out for a paddle. Dinner is served at the riverside restaurant where the sun sets over Botum Sakor.

Day 7 : Cardamom Tented Camp

An early breakfast this morning before embarking on a kayak trip to the old ranger station. Your guide will lead you on trails pointing out conservation projects within the area before walking back to camp for lunch. The rest of the day is at leisure. If you have a head for heights take a ride on the zipwire, alternatively relax with a book by the river.

Day 8 : Battambang

Why not start your early morning with a coffee on a misty morning paddle before breakfast. Time to depart by boat back to Trapeang Rung. Here your driver and guide will drive you to Battambang where the contemporary art scene, picturesque streets and the Art Deco central market are a world away from this morning’s jungle experience.

Day 9 : Battambang

A tuk-tuk tour is a fun way for your guide to take you into the countryside and discover how traditional products are made, from rice paper for spring rolls to rice wine. You will also visit a local family home for refreshments. Continue to Wat Samrong Knong and Phnom Sampeau and visit memorials of those killed by the Khmer Rouge. Then board the bamboo train before returning to your hotel.

Day 10 : Battambang

Today is at leisure.

Day 11 : Siem Reap

Your private driver will transfer you approx. 3.5 hours to Siem Reap, a bustling little town, full of restaurants and markets. Rest of the day is at leisure.

Day 12 : Angkor Wat

Depart pre-dawn to Angkor Wat, as the sun rises providing a silhouette of the temple’s uniquely shaped towers against dramatic colours of the sky. Return to your hotel for breakfast and freshen up before your day of touring continues. Start with the UNESCO world heritage complex inside the walled city of Angkor Thom, Baphoun Temple, Terrace of the Elephants and the Terrace of the Leper King. Next stop is Ta Prohm a highlight for all Angkor visitors. Take a break for lunch (own expense) before entering the main causeway of Angkor Wat and the long walk to the main temple. This imposing structure is truly a journey of discovery and ancient Hindu legends.

Day 13 : Beng Mealea & Kamping Phluk Tour

This morning explore the mysterious ruins of Beng Mealea, this temple of crumbling stone blocks, subterranean chambers and courtyard conjures up a true Indiana Jones moment. In the afternoon head to the northern edge of Tonle Sap Lake where locals live in stilted houses. Embark on a traditional boat through this authentic village and observe daily life up close before returning to your hotel.

Day 14 : Kulen Mountain National Park

Kulen Mountain is one of the holiest places in Cambodia. The waters of the Siem Reap River were so important for the Angkor Empire, this is where the 500 year long 'Age of Angkor' began. Visitors can swim in the clean cool waters, examine the carvings and view the Reclining Buddha monument, a massive statue carved whole out of the mountain top.

Day 15 : Depart Siem Reap - UK

Your driver will transfer you to the airport for your onward journey.
