International Jazz Day: Where to Spend It

International Jazz Day: Where to spend it

In November 2011, UNESCO officially designated April 30 as International Jazz Day to highlight jazz and its diplomatic role of uniting people in all corners of the globe. Each year on April 30, this international art form is recognized for promoting peace, dialogue among cultures, diversity, and respect for human rights and human dignity; eradicating discrimination; promoting freedom of expression; fostering gender equality; and reinforcing the role of youth in enacting social change.

New Orleans & Memphis Tour

New Orleans

What our clients say: “The amazing Southern hospitality made us feel right at home – we’ll miss eating fresh beignets in New Orleans! We loved learning about America’s musical history in each city.“

Memphis is all about the music, notorious for being the home of Blues and Rock ‘n Roll. Don’t miss Sun Studios, or the chance to take in some live music on Beale Street and be sure to see the “Mountain Top”, a sculpture honouring Dr Martin Luther King. The highlight for many will be an included visit to Graceland to explore Elvis’ home, Graceland Mansion. Fully immerse yourself in his life and career at the all-new Elvis Presley’s Memphis entertainment complex.

Stroll through a rotating pop culture exhibit at the Graceland Exhibition Centre. Take in a Graceland Live concert at the Soundstage at Graceland. At Graceland, there are more attractions, more great stories – and more to see, hear, taste and explore than ever before. Your Elvis Experience Tour includes a Graceland Mansion Audio-Guided Tour with New Orientation Film, access to Elvis Presley’s Memphis, Elvis’ two Custom Airplanes, Presley Motors Car Museum, Elvis: The Entertainer Career Showcase Museum and Elvis Discovery Exhibits.

Your unforgettable journey culminates in the multicultural melting pot of New Orleans, renowned for its unparalleled cuisine. You may have heard the food is good but you won’t know just how good until you’ve tried it for yourself! Explore this marvellous city which still retains the flavour of French and Spanish culture which founded it. See Jackson Square, Royal Street, perhaps take a cruise on the Mississippi and be sure to try the Cajun and Creole cuisine. The “Big Easy” is home to jazz and Bourbon Street, where the party never stops – don’t miss it.
