Explore the National Mall

Take time to explore the Greek Revival national Statutory Hall with its marble floors and columns, the Crypt with its replica of the Magna Carta and the lavish domed Rotunda.
National Zoological Park
Containing more than 1,500 animals from over 300 diverse species, the National Zoological Park is spread across 163 acres and is divided into several zones. An awesome place to visit as a family, observe an array of animals ranging from rare pandas to giant salamanders via elephant trails and lounging lions. The zoo isn’t just a place for people to see animals; it’s also a major conservation and research centre. Children (and adults!) can get up close and personal with tame creatures just make sure to wear comfortable footwear.
National Arboretum
Marvel at the National Capitol columns at the National Arboretum, a 446-acre agricultural wonder found in the heart of the district. Featuring the historic National Capitol Columns that supported the East Portico of the U.S. Capitol from 1828 to 1958. The columns make for a jaw-dropping Instagram photos!
Rock Creek Park
Established in 1890, it is the third national park to be established in the United States of America. An oasis for city dwellers, hike, run, cycle or skate the 32 miles of trails that from the Maryland border to south of the Roosevelt Bridge. Tips for first time visitors: start your visit at the Nature Centre and Planetarium, visit the visitors centre then explore the half-mile Woodland Trail or the quarter-mile, accessible Edge of the Woods trail.
