Day 1: The Freedom Trail – Exploring Boston’s historic neighbourhoods
What better way to settle into Boston than by walking the iconic 2.5mile red-brick trail? Explore the 16 most important sites of the American Revolutionary War.
10 am: After a delicious breakfast, start your journey at the Boston Common. The Freedom Trail takes around 3-4 hours on foot, and it ends at the USS Constitution, close to many restaurants to enjoy a well-deserved dinner.
12:00/1:00 pm: One of the stops of this fantastic route is at Faneuil Hall. At this point, take a break and look for the Quincy Marketplace for some food. You can walk a little further towards Christopher Columbus Waterfront Park, where you can enjoy a nice coast view and take a break whilst enjoying your lunch.
3:00 pm: The route continues to Paul Revere House, which is the oldest building in Boston. The next stops are Old North Church, Copp's Hill Burying Ground, Bunker Hill Monument and USS Constitution. You will want to arrive at the USS Constitution Museum before 4:00 pm, as they usually close at 5 pm.
5:00 pm: After a long day walking over 2.5 miles, it’s time to enjoy a meal in the historic Warren Tavern, only a few minutes from USS Constitution.
Day 2: Cambridge - Exploring the most popular squares of the city
10 am: Start your day with a magnificent walk-through of Back Bay Fens and explore James P Kelleher Rose Garden, a small yet charming garden. Cross Fenway Park to head over to Cambridge and walk the campus of Harvard University.
12:00/1:00 pm: Get a feel of the campus life and enjoy a nice lunch around the area. Don’t forget to visit Harvard Square and explore the well-known landmarks such as Johnston Gate and Widener Library.
4:00 pm: The penultimate visit is at Central Square, known for its wide variety of ethnic restaurants, churches, bars, live music and theatre venues.
