Day 1 : Arrive Sydney
On arrival in Sydney, a private transfer will take you from the airport to your hotel.
Day 2 : Sydney
There’s nowhere in the world quite like Sydney and on today’s included sightseeing you’ll understand why the Sydney-siders claim it’s the best place to live in the world. This morning you’ll enjoy a guided walking tour of Sydney Opera House. This afternoon see the major Sydney highlights on a city tour, including Sydney Harbour, reputedly one of the most beautiful in world. The city that sits around it is one of fi ne weather, sunshine, glorious ocean beaches with a vibrant big city vibe. Enjoy the evening dining in one of Sydney’s many restaurants, or perhaps take a twilight Bridge climb. Don’t leave your camera in the hotel room.
Day 3 : Sydney - Port Stephens (130 miles)
Collect your hire car from the downtown Hertz office and head north over the Harbour Bridge. Passing by the town of Newcastle you’ll head for the sun-kissed Pacific coast and the resort of Port Stephens, famous for its dolphins and whale watching. Tonight’s hotel has stunning views over Nelson Bay Marina and the ocean.
Day 4 : Port Stephens - Hunter Valley (70 miles)
Enjoy a highlight this morning - an included 90 minute dolphin watch cruise and some free time in port Stephens. When you’re ready make the short journey inland to the fabulous Hunter Valley, home to more than 130 wineries and vineyards including some real boutique producers. Your hotel is ten minutes from the famous Hunter Valley Gardens and close to Lovedale.
Day 5 : Hunter Valley
The Hunter Valley is Australia’s oldest continuous grape growing region, with the fi rst vines planted here in the 1820s by families whose names live on today in some of the best wine brands in the country, including wine forefathers George Wyndham and Audrey Wilkinson. The Hunter Valley is home to more than 130 wineries producing a wide array of exceptional wines and is recognised as a world leader in dry white wines made from Semillon. Hunter Valley Semillon is regarded as Australia’s unique white wine. In addition to its great wines, the Hunter Valley region is a must for fi ne dining, quality producers and a busy calendar of food and wine events. It is also renowned for its national parks, spa retreats and great golf. You’ve all day to explore and seek out that special vintage.
Day 6 : Hunter Valley - Blue Mountains (63 miles)
Perhaps you’ll rise early this morning and take an optional hot air balloon flight over the vineyards and eucalyptus forests. Continue your journey south across the Wollemi National Park to Katoomba in the scenic Blue Mountains. Your hotel tonight has stunning views.
Day 7 : Blue Mountains - Sydney (63 miles)
Spend some time this morning exploring the Blue Mountains, this World Heritage-listed National Park is a feast of lookouts, bushwalks, wildflowers and wildlife. Later, travel back to Sydney, return your rental vehicle to the downtown Hertz office before 5pm.
Day 8 : Sydney departure
Perhaps you’ve time for some boutique shopping before your included coach transfer to the airport for your onward flight.
