Your Itinerary
Day 1 : Arrive Darwin
Darwin is gateway to some of the best wildlife and cultural experiences in the country found deep within Katherine, Lichfield and Kakadu National Parks. This laid-back tropical city is the perfect start or end point in your Australia journey. This evening you will join a sunset cruise.
Day 2 : Darwin - Kakadu
Set off today in your vehicle to Australia’s biggest national park, Kakadu, you will find ancient landscapes with thundering waterfalls, lush rainforests, wandering wetlands, exotic wildlife and ancient rock art. We have included a cultural cruise on a unique tour on Kakadu’s scenically spectacular East Alligator River. As your journey continue, we recommend a stop at Ubirr rock formation to view the most magical sunset.
Day 3 : Jabiru – Cooinda
Join a 1-hour scenic flight this morning. Sit back as your flight takes you through the Upper East Alligator Valley viewing deep fault lines, view the outliers created from erosion, then follow the twists and turns of the stunning East Alligator River. Don't be surprised to see saltwater crocodiles sunning on the banks of the river. (route may be differ during the wet season). You may wish to self-guide to visit Nourlangie to see the rock art. Later you will board one of the must do guided cruises in Kakadu National Park, Yellow Water Cruise.
Day 4 : Cooinda - Katherine
Where the Outback meets the tropics, Katherine is famous for the Katherine Gorge and its position as the crossroads of the territory. This evening’s sunset dinner cruise will serve guests a 3-course candlelit fine dining experience with the most magnificent backdrop, the Nitmuluk Gorge. Your hosts will share stories of the Jawoyn people as you glide along the river.
Day 5 : Katherine – Darwin
As you head back to Darwin, we recommend a stop off at Litchfield National Park to swim in waterfalls and waterholes (season dependent) or just dip your toe in. You will also be able to see enormous magnetic termite mounds.
Day 6 : Depart Darwin
Time to return your rental vehicle and head on to your next destination. Maybe you will chose to board The Ghan train and travel in style through the very heart of Australia or board a flight to Alice Springs where the Red Centre awaits.
