Day 1 : Miami - Key Largo

On arrival in Miami airport collect your rental car and head south to the Florida Keys and Key Largo for a three night stay.

Day 2-3 : Key Largo

Two days to enjoy the water activities the area has to offer.

Discover the oldest underwater park in the world at John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park. You will be able to enjoy the Park's popular water activities including viewing the reef on a glass-bottom boat or snorkel and scuba tours, as well as canoeing and kayaking on mangrove-lined waterways. A visitor centre featuring a refurbished 30,000-gallon aquarium, as well as boat rentals, nature trails, picnic pavilions and two beaches round out the variety of offerings at Pennekamp. Booking a snorkel trip in the Key Largo area is easy with plenty of dive shops around. They will take you four to five miles offshore to the reef for a half day excursion, making stops at different reef patches. Your other option is to go scuba diving. If you are not a certified diver, this is the best place in the country to become one. The waters are warm, clear and shallow. The reefs are abundant with marine life, schooling fish, tiny tropical fish, corals and sea fans. Exchange the day’s stories at one of the waterfront bars or restaurants.

Day 4-6 : Marathon

Head further south to Marathon Key today for a three night stay.

On the way why not try your hand at kiteboarding in Islamorada where lessons are available for all ages. Catch air and go fast with this exhilarating alternative to surfing. The safe environment of the Keys offers a unique opportunity for anyone to learn the sport of kiteboarding. Warm, knee-deep water is ideal for launching and riding, heading out to deeper channels for popping jumps and steady, ride-able wind carries kites from all directions.

Day 7-8 : Miami

Head back to Miami, check into your South Beach hotel and return your car. Then relax and enjoy the laid-back atmosphere of “SoBe”. South Beach was the first part of Miami Beach to be developed at the turn of the last century and is famous for it’s art deco architecture, nightlife and café scene.

Day 9 : Miami

Time to leave today. Leave yourself plenty of time to head north along the skyway back to the mainland and on to Miami airport where you drop off your car and take your homeward flight.
