Your Itinerary
Day 1 : Arrive Washington D.C.
Upon arrival into Washington, make your own way to your hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure.
Day 2 : Washington D.C.
Be sure to visit all the important landmarks and sights this city has to offer. See the White House, the FBI building, the National Archives, the Capitol, US senate, Lincoln and Washington Memorials just to name a few. The Smithsonian Institution’s National Air and Space Museum also maintains the largest collection of historic air and spacecraft in the world and The National Gallery of Art houses one of the finest collections in the world.
Day 3 : Washington D.C. – Philadelphia (145 miles)
Pick up your rental car this morning and travel to Philadelphia via Maryland and Delaware! If time permits a stopover in Baltimore can be included. The centrepiece of downtown Baltimore is the Inner Harbour, a vibrant and beautiful waterfront. Continue to Boston.
Day 4 : Philadelphia
Visit one of the historically most significant cities in the US - Philadelphia, America’s Cradle of Liberty; it was here that Congress announced the Declaration of Independence and the city in which the Constitution of the United States was published. Visit the historic area, the Benjamin Franklin Parkway with the Franklin Institute, Fairmont Park, Elfreth’s Alley and Society Hill, the National Historic Independence Park with Liberty Bell and the Independence Hall.
Day 5 : Philadelphia – New York (100 miles)
Today you will travel through the “Garden State“ New Jersey to New York.
Day 6-7 : New York
New York City is the largest city in the US with over 8.2 million residents. The centre of the New York metropolitan area, ranks among the largest urban areas in the world and is rated as an alpha world city for its global influences in media, politics, education, entertainment and fashion. The city’s cultural centres for arts are among the Nation’s most influential. The Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, Wall Street, Times Square, Central Park, Empire State Building and Chrysler Building are just a few of the many attractions which can be visited. With its 24-hour subway and constant bustling of traffic and people, New York is known as “The City That Never Sleeps”. You have 2 full days to explore all the attractions, sites and excitement this great city has to offer.
Day 8 : New York – Boston (220 miles)
Depart for Boston today and perhaps stop at the famous Yale University in New Haven or even Newport in Rhode Island, home to many of America’s wealthiest individuals (including the Vanderbilt’s) whom built magnificent summer homes here.
Day 9 : Boston
Enjoy a full day in Boston with all its attraction, many easily explored by foot. Notable sights include Boston Common, the Beacon, the Old North Church and Bunker Hill Monument. Spend some time walking on the Freedom Trail with the most important historic monuments of the city that includes Boston Tea Party, Faneuil Hall, Paul Revere House, Old State House and Copley Square with Trinity Church. While in Boston we recommend a whale watch cruise on a high-speed catamaran (Apr - Oct) or a visit to the New England Aquarium!
Day 10 : Boston Departure
Your journey ends today as you check out of your hotel and return your rental car at the airport to board your onward flight home.
